Happy Bank Holiday Monday! And I have nine more reasons to be cheerful! We have nine releases out today from the Recoverworld Label Group! As always, let’s start with the singles, with seven of the labels putting out seven fantastic new tracks! Discover Digital gives you “Shores of Light” by Ilya Soloviev and Rishi. Featuring first on the “Global Trance – Russia” it became one of the most requested tracks. Its official release includes a great remix from Stephen Lombardo – aka Drama who never disappoints! Eve Records has a double release from DJ Pavel S. “Samurai” and “Take Control” move closer to techno than house and combine moody with hypnotic deep seated grooves. “OLGA” by Second Wave sits perfectly on the Kill The Lights label with its lush chords and feel good summer vibe melody. The
Lostalgia imprint marches on with fellow countryman Diving Analogue getting his latest release “Hatsukoi” on the label – a peak time euphoria heading straight for the big room.
The incredibly talented Peter Hulsmans see’s his latest release on Discover Records. His tracks are always a big event for us at HQ, as his own clever style and musical vision never fails to deliver that unique sound that we know and love from this distinctive producer. Finally on the singles, its Dark vs White with two banging tracks going head to head. The Worlds darkest trance label – Discover Dark brings you a G8 special delivery. “My Agenda” and “Overdrive” are packed full of energy with more than a hint of acidic pulsating action. Meanwhile Christian Drost drops the massive “Intruder” on Discover White Label– a single track, filled with lush chords, an infectious top line and tight production to create this epic floor filler.
This weeks albums again see the two dark forces of trance music – DD and DWL, dishing out some of the gnarliest tracks out there! Dark Sessions Radio 001
The latest episode of Recoverworld Hour on Diesel FM is now available to listen to on Tony Vertigo’s “Beyond Sunrise” Mixcloud page.
DJ John Askew is to trance what Aunt Bessie is to Yorkshires – in as much as you can not talk about one, without thinking of the other.
As head of A & R, he was an integral part of the Discover Records label for many years, and his influences can still be heard to this day, as the label stays true to it’s ethos of only releasing quality underground banging floor fillers.
In his interview, Johns discusses who he wants to punch, who he would most want to enjoy a tipple or two with and why he got his kit off in the name of charity!
This mix itself, is outstanding. Suitably dark, heavily psy influenced and relentless from start to finish.
Catch him next week (Friday 13th February, 2015) in Brighton, as he returns to his spiritual home and headlines Discover Records newly renamed “Discover Trance Academy presents ACID REVOLUTION.
Colour & Pitch is a label brimming with talent. Label owner Will Sumsuch heads up the unit and not only does he know how to write and lay down quality tunes himself, with tracks like Live Now bearing testament to this, he can also spot a cracker a mile off!
Enter Barcelona based DJ and producer Teysel, who takes centre stage for C&P’s 5th release. Inspired by underground Chicago and West Coast US house music, Teysel’s traditional, precise approach to DJing is reflected in his compositions. With an EP and several remixes released on German label EUN, he is now truly finding his feet as a producer.
Title track ‘Continuous’ represents a slice of simple, Berlin influenced, stripped down tech house, full of dark and brooding atmospheres.
Ahead of their forthcoming début single on Colour and Pitch, Spanish production duo Aiby & The Noise make their entrance with a truly raucous remix of ‘Continuous’. Replaying the bass-line and adding some classic breaks, they transform the track into a growling behemoth; to be handled with caution!
Hailing from Czech Republic, residing in Brighton UK, A-Bee & Tom Vagabondo have released on countless labels both separately and together as The Lazyboys. Their remix of Continuous completes our package with a deep and mournful deep house journey, adding haunting spoken word and bleak, atmospheric synths.
