Its been a hectic twelve months for The Muzik Genie. A year ago to the day I was diagnosed with cancer – Hodgkins Lymphoma (Stage Two). I underwent four month of chemotherapy, followed by five weeks of radiotherapy. I was given the all clear in March 2016 only to discover that many of my symptoms returned in April.
Tests unfortunately re-confirmed the return of the disease in May, which means a further three months chemo. This will be followed by Stem Cell Replacement (bone marrow transplant) towards the end of the year.
I have taken the tough decision to put work to one side while I concentrate on my health for the foreseeable future. I will continue to involve myself with music as this in itself has the most wonderful healing properties. But one thing that life has taught me in the last year is that health, friends and family are the most important things in life and this will be where my precious time will be concentrated on.
For me, the challenge will be changing the habits of a life time and adopting a new and more wholesome way of living, and who knows what the future may bring. But I will be logging this journey in my blog Girl Sunshine 75 and my Instagram page, where I am creating a daily journal of how I look and feel.
This is not goodbye. .This is “Hasta Manana” 🙂
